Kinda weird to blog on Planet KDE about a KDE release, especially when it’s also announced on the Dot, but I’d like to take the opportunity to congratulate everyone who worked on it!
See the full announcement.
Mandatory screenshot leeched off the announcement:
I am, of course, running something close to the 4.7 release. I usually run the master branch from Git, last built a week or two ago.

Hi Thiago. I wanted to congratulate all of you guys, both devs, artists, general contributors for this great release.
A bit out of topic but since you are running master, how is the general experience? I am thinking of completely switching to compile kde for myself but I am a bit woried that it might be way to unstable and difficult to revert to a stable commit. Is that even usual?
Anyway, thanks again for your work.
Cheers.

Well, Luis, there are certainly bugs every now and then. Right now, for example, there’s an annoying issue with kwin’s focus-stealing prevention (it’s not preventing and worse, it gives back focus to the wrong window) and Plasma’s taskbar has phantom entries.
Other than that, it works fine. You get the latest and greatest. The only drawback is that sometimes you don’t realise how much you’ve got because you get them in small doses.
